Newlands Corner, Silent Pool and St Martha'sHill are at the heart of the Surrey Hills Area ofOutstanding Natural Beauty. These sites are privately owned by the Albury Estate. Surrey Wildlife Trust Countryside Services manages public access to them under an access agreement made between Albury Estate and Surrey County Council.
Newlands Corner Newlands Corner is a popular site with superb views of the surrounding countryside. There are 105 hectares (260 acres) of open chalk downland and peaceful woodlands.
Silent Pool Silent Pool nestles in a hollow at the foot of the North Downs. It is fed by a spring. Shaded by trees and with an eerie blue hue to the water, it is a place of mystery and ancient legend.
St. Martha's Hill Clothed in woodlands, St Martha's Hill stands 160 metres (525ft) above sea level. From the top on a clear day you can see eight counties. There has been a church on this site since Saxon times.
